16. Product-Specific Processing
16.1 Test Hub (Azure DevOps Extension)
Data Access Within Azure DevOps
The Test Hub extension may access:
- Work item metadata (e.g., ID, title, type, state)
- Custom fields related to test management
- Work item relationships
- Project and organization metadata
- Team member information (e.g., names, email addresses, user IDs, avatars)
- Current user identity (Azure AD user ID)
Some of this information may constitute personal data.
Data Storage Within Azure DevOps
All operational data, including test execution results, work item content, attachments, and configuration, is stored within Azure DevOps and remains under customer control.
Data Transmitted Outside Azure DevOps
For licensing purposes, the extension transmits limited data to an external service:
- Organization identifier
- User identifier (Azure AD user ID)
- Authentication token (used temporarily for verification only)
This data is used solely to validate licenses, assign seats, and verify that a user belongs to a given organization.
Important Limitations
- Authentication tokens are not stored
- Work item content and test data do not leave Azure DevOps
- Team member details (e.g., names, emails, avatars) are not transmitted externally
External Services (Licensing)
We use a secure external service to manage licensing. This service may process organization identifiers, user identifiers, and license status and seat allocation. This data is used exclusively for licensing and access control.
Local Storage
The extension may store limited data locally in the browser, such as temporary license validation results. This data is used only for performance optimization and is not shared externally.
Logging
Limited operational logs may be generated (e.g., license validation events or errors). These logs are used solely for maintenance and troubleshooting and are not shared with third parties.
